What is the difference between
EBT, SNAP, EBT cash benefits and D-SNAP?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal nutrition
program administered by USDA-FNS that helps eligible consumers purchase
healthy foods using their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards.

SNAP

an FNS program that provides healthy foods for eligible people

EBT

an electronic system that enables SNAP participants to use their benefits

EBT Cash Benefits

cash benefits to pay for childcare, housing, transportation and more

D-SNAP

benefits similar to SNAP created in response to the pandemic

Why should I become a SNAP retailer?

There are many reasons merchants decide to accept EBT and become a SNAP retailer.

  • Added revenue stream
EBT cards are another method of payment
available to nearly 42 million Americans
  • Increased foot traffic
    SNAP participants look for stores
    that accept EBT
  • Lift in residual sales
    Consumers will also make non-SNAP
purchases while using their EBT cards
  • Improved reputation
    Fighting hunger in the community
is a great way to give back
