If the terminal displays one of the following error messages, take the recommended action. If that does not clear the error, contact Merchant Services.

“Cannot Write”
“Out of Paper”
Confirm that the printer paper has
been inserted correctly. Run a
printer test.
“Comm Port Failed to
Initialize”
“Modem Init Failed”
“Comm Port Parms Failed”
If the terminal is configured for dialup,
reset the terminal. If the terminal
is not configured for dial-up, contact
Merchant Services.
“No Connection”
“No Carrier”
“No Phone Line!”
“No Dial Tone”
Confirm that the terminal’s
telephone line is plugged in
correctly at both ends. Confirm that
the telephone connection works by
connecting it to a dial-up telephone.
“Error Opening Config File”
“Connection Error”
“Command Error”
“Invalid Modem Response”
Reset the terminal.
“Double Card Swipe; Must
Start Over”
Restart the transaction by pressing
star. Swipe the card only once before
selecting a menu option.
“Card Invalid” Try another card; send the failing
card to InComm.
